Trinity College Dublin

The Trinity College hosts one of the largest computer science departments within Ireland and the UK, with over fifty academic staff, in excess of 250 postgraduate students and approximately 1500 undergraduate students in seven computing degree courses. The Knowledge and Data Engineering (KDEG) research group comprises seven academic staff and 25 research associates. KDEG has established a very strong reputation in the research of hypermedia information systems, virtual environments and intelligent pedagogic systems.

Within ELEKTRA, the Trinity College Dublin is responsible for user requirement analysis, for the translation of pedagogical principles into narratives for Learning Management Systems, the development of a Narrative Interpretation Engine, the integration of virtual environments and personalised information services, concept ontology specification and the provision of learning object metadata and learner model specification.
